Outlook for electricians

Although there is not expected to be much job growth in the future for electronic engineers and engineers, this occupation is expected grow faster than most. The demand for electronics engineers and professionals is expected to rise. Most of this growth will be in engineering service firms. However, the BLS warns that jobs in this field will be competitive and may decline slightly in some areas. This article examines how the United States will treat electronics professionals and engineers.

FAQ

Are you a student who wants to be an engineer?

To become an engineer, you don't need to have a bachelors degree. Many employers prefer applicants who have degrees. You can also take classes online if you don't already have a degree.

What qualifications are required to study engineering?

No. All you need is good grades in your GCSEs (or equivalent). Some universities require that applicants achieve certain academic achievements before they can be accepted. Cambridge University, for instance, requires applicants to earn A*-C grades (in Maths, English Language or Science)

If you do not meet these requirements, you'll need to take additional courses in order to be prepared for university entrance tests.

You might also need to take additional maths/science subjects and a language course. These options can be discussed with your school's guidance counselors.

What kind of jobs can I get if I study engineering?

Engineers can find employment in almost every industry, including manufacturing, transportation, energy, communications, healthcare, finance, government, education, and defense.

Engineers who specialize in particular fields can often find employment at specific companies or organizations.

An example of this is that electrical engineers can work for telecommunications firms, medical device makers, or computer chip manufacturers.

Software developers may work for websites or mobile app developers.

Programmers may work in tech companies such as Google and Microsoft.

How To

How to Use An Engineering Ruler

An engineering ruler is a tool that engineers use to measure distances. Since ancient times, engineers measure distances. The 3000 BC was the year that the first measurement device was discovered.

In the modern era, we still use rulers, but they have changed significantly. The most common ruler in modern times is the metric one. These rulers are marked in millimeters (1mm 0.039 inches). Metric rulers are generally rectangular in form and available in many sizes. Some rulers also include centimeters, millimeters, and graduations. For example, 1 cm equals 2.54 mm.

Engineers are unlikely to use a traditional mechanical ruler today. They would use a digital version that measures in millimeters. It works much like a regular digital scale, except it has markings corresponding to various length units. Learn more about them here.
